Our newest edition to our family came to us on June 28, 2009 at 1:48am early on a Sunday morning. We are so happy to have HIM! #4 baby was our "surprise" baby and not knowing whether he was a boy or girl was kind of fun! Although, towards the end of my pregnancy, every one, strangers included, would come up to me and say "are you having a boy?", "Boy?", or "Looks like a boy", well that kinda spoiled it--we were sort of hoping for a girl-so Naia could have a sister, but in all, the boy was just right. No matter if boy or girl, we were blessed to have a healthy baby come join our family!
Tayvin was due to come on July 1, according to our ultrasound due date, but instead came on the original due date given on the first doctor visit- June 28. I also thought that it could come early at first but then I thought, all the others came late, so this one will too. Boy was I wrong.
A trip to Elitch's on the Wednesday before (24th) I think was what kind of set it off. All the walking and wading in the pool area helped move along the labor. The next day I was at the doctor's monitoring the baby due to some bleeding and contracting. Well before you know it Saturday came and I didn't feel well much of the day. It was spent mostly in bed. Contractions started around 4am and were off and on all day. But by 8pm they were coming stronger and more frequent. Eddie had been busy all day long, fixing the toilet, taking kids to Windsor for a track meet, cleaning the yard and attending his mom's for dinner with the kids. He kept checking on me all day and all I could say was "I'm having contractions but they're coming and going, I'm fine". Even my parents, who back from a trip to Utah called and asked how it was going, and I said "nothing yet, some contractions but nothing." Well by 10pm we were on our way to the hospital. Marty asked to join us and I'm glad she did because Eddie passed out an hour after arriving due to his hard days work!
This pregnancy was great. I went in, at 10:45 I was 4cm dialated 75% effaced, 1 1/2 hours later after walking the hall and rocking in the rocking chair I was at 7cm and 90% effaced. 1/2 hour later I was a 9 and was able to push because I was "stretchy"! About 9 or so pushes (would have been less pushes if I hadn't forgotten how to "bare down" and push correctly, but after some coaching from the dr and nurse I got it back) and he was out! Our beautiful little boy! Oh yeah by 9 cm Eddie was up and took over what his mother had helped with-a pissed off lookin wife cuz she did it with no meds! - I even kind of yelled at him to help hold my leg up- I was loosing energy quick--and wanted the baby out fast! He told me "If looks could kill!" Well I could've done worse and broke his bones! But he's lucky!
So only a few short hours of hospital labor and baby arrived!
Healthy and Happy!
He is such a blessing to our family. The kids love their new little brother and Naia, the little mommy, doesn't seem to mind at all that it's not a sister!

Congratulations!!! What a handsome boy you have. I'm so glad the birth went good for you (yeah for natural birth!). Here we both are with our #4 surprises.
I love all the pictures! I'm so glad I am able to be apart of your life everyday! I feel so blessed that are kids are able to grow up together, go to school and church together. I would say there isn't much we do without one another, and I love that! Now you have 4 I guess it is my turn. lol
